That’s sad. Poor little guy.
I remember being at a game as a child, and there was some promotional event happening on the Spectrum ice. Whoever was doing the promoting was joined by Poppy the Penguin (a guy in a big Penguin/mascot costume, not an actual penguin).
The reaction from the fans? “BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”
Lou Nolan: “No, he’s not Poppy the Pittsburgh Penguin.”

This actually made me really sad, not gonna lie.
I’ve always felt bad for actual penguins, being associated with Pittsburgh like that. Where’s PETA when you really need them?
