World Series forces Flyers time change

The Flyers have announced that the Monday, November 2 home game against the Tampa Bay Lightning has been switched from a 7 PM start to a 5 PM start. The Phillies will host Game 5 of the World Series that night across the parking lot at Citizens Bank Park. That is, of course, if they don't sweep the Yankees or the Angels in four games.

Regardless of whether or not there is a Game 5, though, the 5 PM Flyers start time is permanent. They will not switch back to 7 PM out of respect for Tampa's travel schedule. You've got to imagine some people with tickets to this game won't be happy with the switch, considering a lot of people are either still at work at 5 PM or they wont be able to get to South Philly in time for puck drop.

This isn't the first Philadelphia sports event to alter its start time to accompany the Phillies in the World Series. The Eagles and New York Giants moved their Sunday, November 1 game at Lincoln Financial Field from 4:15 PM to 1 PM to accomodate World Series Game 4 at Citizens Bank Park.
