I like Primanti's, but I was never a huge fan. I might get abuse for this, but I like the Philly cheese steak better.
I don't know if I should admit that.

Wait, was R.J. Umberger from Pittsburgh? Why did Vs. never say anything about this?!?!

Yes, he was. Saw a pic of him meeting Roethlisberger once and they did a story on his parents on CSN before the playoffs vs. Pitt 2 years ago—and how difficult it would be for them to root against the home team and for their son’s team instead.

Oh, sorry. Not feeling it today, I guess, in light of all the doom and gloom with Philly sports today.

Primanti’s really isn’t very good imo. Maybe its because they are a Pittsburgh thing, but I just don’t like them. My freinds always wanna go there and I always try to skip out…

I was also significantly unimpressed…. Not to mention the abuse there is worse than the cheese steak treatment we give to travelers. It took me a full five minutes to argue with the waiter that having cole slaw on my sandwich would actually make me sick, not just be a preference. He didn’t back down until I threatened to throw up on him, it required that much of a drastic measure to make him stop! Here we just send you to the back of the line and make you order correctly, but as long as you say it right they won’t refuse to make what you ask for. And they say we’re the ones with the nasty attitude…

Make sure you order the right thing, though – my mother made the mistake once of ordering a “cheese steak hoagie” at Lous in Norristown. She got a cheesesteak with all the hoagie fixings on top.

The one time I defend anything Pittsburgh
Primanti’s rocks. Best sandwich in Western Pa by far. Cheese steaks still better as a whole (Steve’s Prince of Steaks is best in Philly) but don’t be down on Primanti’s, eating one is like getting 6 #1 picks in a row.

Yea, it really is a matter of opinion. Some people like them. I, on the other had, don’t and never will. That is mostly because they are a Pittsburgh thing as I said before, and I just won’t support anything from this city but it is also because I just don’t like the taste or the idea. If I have to go there, I always just get pizza and avoid the sandwiches like they are the plague.

I can’t stand Primanti’s, but I can’t stand cole slaw. It’s like someone who’s lactose intolerant eating a cheesesteak.

Good analogy.
The worst is when the cole slaw sits and makes the bread all soggy. Yuck!
