I've been reading BSH for a while now, but I just joined SB Nation today. I specifically joined just to share this phenomenal article.

Enjoy.

Thanks for joining

That is a truly great article (even if it’s from Pittsburgh). There really is something about hockey that makes it just plain different (in a good way) than any other sport.

On a side note, welcome. It’s great to have people who used to just be readers sign up and start contributing.

Thanks for posting that. Awesome read, and I think that puts into words what we all feel every time we step into an ice rink. Pretty special.

Thanks for the post!

But I’ll take your word for it. Not a fan of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and because this is intended as “There’s Something About Hockey” referring to the Penguins it loses a lot of weight for me. I tried to read it without being baised but once I saw that picture I just couldn’t do haha. Considering, “there was nothing about hockey” for anyone in Pittsburgh until these last few seasons this is more bandwagon blubbering coming out of the lovely city of Pittsburgh. I get it enough from being out here so please excuse my partiality.

But to the more important point, welcome to BSH! It is always great to have more members joining and hopefully feeling the excitement of Flyers’ hockey, which brings this site together and connects all of us in one way or another. Its kinda weird having friends that I have never met before (if you guys don’t mind me calling you all friends) but that is the cool thing about BSH! Please stick around and feel free to post and get involved!

One thing about Pittsburgh though is that they have a great sports staff at the PG. Truly great work over there, for the Pirates and the Penguins. This is just another excellent article from that paper. I’m definitely jealous that their true fans have such great MSM coverage. Not that Philly’s is terrible, but Pittsburgh has to be in the top 5 in the country in sports journalism.
