Ranking the Flyers: Number 24
As the 23rd player on the roster, Riley Cote is also the 23rd most valuable Flyer. Coincidence? I don't think so. Seems voters here are focused on this year, and this year only.
Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily. But now you have to look ahead. Which player not on the roster is most valuable to this team? Vote now.

I know we’re only 23 votes in, but how is Randy Jones “valuable” to this team? He’s in the final year of a deal, and he’s obviously not coming back.

I voted Bourdon. He’s clearly the apparent first injury call-up on D since he’s already been up this year while OKT was down.
Could’ve gone Nodl or Ross for the same reason, though.

Difficult decision. Of all the Phantoms that are potential call ups, I like Jon Kalinski the best, just slightly ahead of Ross. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from Nodl’s unimpressive play with the Flyers last year, so I can’t vote for him, and I just haven’t seen enough of Matsumoto, Bourdon, Maroon or Marshall to consider them. And as for Randy Jones – I agree with Geoff.
Nodl is terrible.
I voted for Kalinski.

Well, the BSH staff is split, since I voted Maroon. I’m still holding out hope that he is as good as the early offseason hype.

I agree with Geoff on Randy Jones… I think it’s a distinct possibility he has played his last games as a Flyer. Things would have to change drastically for him to come back up this season, and I don’t think he’s going to get another contract even if he takes a pay cut. I know he played well a few years ago, but if the D is successful without him this year, Homer may not have a compelling reason to bring him back.
