Flyers put Danny Syvret on waivers. If cleared, will return to the Adirondack Phantoms.

Happy Thanksgiving to Oskars Bartulis, who will now compete with the healthy Ole-Kristian Tollefsen for playing time as the Flyers' 6th defenseman.

So what happens if the Flyers have an injury? Will Homer try to call him up again and end up having to pay half of two different D-men’s salary?

I think they called up Bourdon earlier in the season for the game in Carolina, so he might be next in line.
Mario will LOVE that idea.

Even at half off? Sure, he’s no Randy Jones, but there will be injuries and maybe some other teams just love making us pay.

He only makes $575k and if he was placed on re-entry waivers tomorrow his remaining salary would only be about $400k. Realistically, we’re talking about pretty insignificant numbers.
Also, the guy is fucking terrible at the NHL-level and on the last year of a contract. I just don’t see any reason a team would want him.
From my GVT story:
We can mostly agree that Danny Syvret played his way out of the Flyers lineup. But Steve Eminger, Luke Schenn, Hal Gill, and Nick Schultz were tied with him in total GVT and Brett Lebda, Ruslan Salei, Andrej Sekera, Jeff Woywitka, Luca Sbisa, Brendan Mikkelson, Andrew Ference, Aaron Ward, and Jack Johnson were all worse.

And which of those GMs do you expect to say “Our Dman has been bad, though he has a history of playing adequately in the NHL, but let me instead bring in this dude who’s been given up on by two other teams now!”
There’s almost no difference between $200k and $400k in salary and yet Syvret cleared waivers today.
Love how they tried to slip him through on the holiday.

It’s noon on Friday. I didn’t hear he was claimed, so I guess he’s on his way to Adirondack.
