Boycott
I tried hard to say away from the BSH over the past 5 or 6 days but I did miss my daily Flyers discussion. When the world series ends later this week I am going to miss it more and more. In an attempt to bring the BSH back to the realm of intelligent and rational Flyers discussion I am calling for an all out boycott of MarioD. His posts have dominated the discussion since the start of the season and it is apparent that is is never to going to stop pushing his agenda of hate. This weekend the Flyers won 2 game by a combined scored of 12 to 3 a seemingly good weekend for our Flyers. However as usual MarioD comments have forced the discussion away from game as a whole down to one or one or two seconds of play where his targets Svyert, JVR, Emery, or Powe made mistakes. The remaining conversion then centers around attacking or defending these players. Enough is enough I am tired of seeing this theme on every post. It is long season to continue to harp on and on about the same crap game after game no matter how well the these players perform or whether or not the team even wins the game. For example after the 6 -2 victory over Tampa Bay where JVR has 3 points, is a +2 and leading all rookies in scoring averaging over a point per game to start his career the post game discussion thread still revolves around sending JVR down to AHL and how bad he is going to be playing 5 months from now. It is has become clear that no matter how many statistics or how much evidence you present to the contradict MarioD's statements he is not going to change his opinions or stop his attacks. I say stop wasting your time with MarioD he is not going to get banned (I am not that lucky) but maybe just maybe if everyone stops replying to his posts and adding fuel the fire he will get bored and find somewhere else to promote his agenda. If that happens we can all get back to having meaningful hockey discussion about our favorite sport and our favorite team The Philadelphia Flyers.

I respectfully disagree
MarioD is fairly passionate about the Flyers to say the least but he does present fairly well detailed posts, and breaks statistics down in my opinion to a more detailed level than most people on this site feel like diving into. I enjoy his posts, and from what i have seen he doesn’t flame anyone.

I think its fun. Who knows he could just be another screen name playing Devils (boo Devils of any kind) advocate. He and I clash a lot on our views on the Flyers, but it is some great entertainment.

If you don't like what he has to say...
… don’t respond. That’s all I can suggest. You’re not going to win an argument with him, regardless of whether you are right or he is. It’s not worth getting aggravated over.
I disagree with Nolbs13 about flaming. Unfortunately he does flame people, or at least he did. Travis, Ben and Geoff remove any and all abusive comments before too long. Hopefully he does not do this anymore.
To paraphrase Neil Young:
Don’t let it bring you down,
It’s only bloggers posting,
And SB Nation’s hosting
So we’ll all come around.

I like MarioD. Sure I think hes wrong most the time and very short sighted, but he is in-tilted to his opinion. I also think hes entertaining, he is always on the site to share an opinion and post on everything. Yeah i like to bust his balls a lot too, but I do it out of fun and not just to be a d-bag. Think of it this way, if MarioD didn’t say bad things about these p[layers, would there be anybody saying good things about them???
btw MarioD, this will probably be the only time i stand up for you on this site, might as well take it in now lol.

We all just need to stick by mikefive’s earlier fanpost and try to be respectful in our disagreements, that’s all. Some people need to work on that, but nobody actually needs to go. It’s not like we’re ever going to all agree on anything. Besides this is Philly, passionate and hot-headed are common traits. I know I possess them.

You can’t call for a boycott on someone just because you disagree with them. mikefive is right, if you don’t agree with him just don’t respond. Thats what I do. People get all bent out of shape fighting with if over Danny Syvret’s +/-. Its whatever. mike is also right that he will never admit if he is wrong so I just don’t bother. But at least Mario goes through the trouble of researching and supporting his claims.
Dragongirl is totally right, as long as the personal attacks are non existent and the intelligent discussion continues, we’ll be just fine :)

I have stated my arguments with MarioD over those players for the past 10 games but after EVERY game win or lose, 1-5 or 6-1 it is the same thing over and over and over again. An the entire following conversion centers around his comments. I have no problem with arguing and I don’t want to make it personal just enough is enough we have to agree to disagree and move on already. In a 6 – 1 victory is a clip by clip dissection of a Powe or Svyert turnover really something we need to discuss after each game. There are better things to talk about with this team then this same stuff after every game.

Start other conversations, then.
Find some bright spots from the game and talk about them.
We all can agree that Emery is beginning to look much more comfortable, for example. How about Laliberte’s admirable job of filling in for Briere? The list goes on.

Exactly as Mike said, instead of replying, start your comments below and change the subject. Most of us do read all the way down, you know.
