Don’t really like the new design, to be honest. The header seems a bit empty and unpolished, and it’s kinda hard to see the border around the FanPosts box and in between FanPosts, etc. Doesn’t really seem like the white background meshes well with the rest of the site to me either.
Just my two cents.

Ditto. The header was the first thing I noticed. A black box with a plain font and an ad? I realize the ad needs to be there, but the area around it could be a lot better.
And maybe it’s just me, but the shade of orange seems more muted. That may just be an effect of the colors around it.

I fully admitting to noticing this only after kforbes pointed it out on From the Rink…. Whatever they did to the logos on the top left, they look blurry. Not overly so, but noticeably less sharp.

I also find there to be an awful lot of white. That’s my main complaing.

I really dislike the new design. Way too much white generally!

Those are the prices for private skate sessions, ie: renting out Fenway’s rink.
There are also sessions open to the public, though the prices per person haven’t been announced..

The chances of getting in to one of those sessions is probably going to be nearly impossible, though.

Honestly, no clue. I just think everyone’s jumping the gun a bit making it sound like you have to rent the rink out.
I would guess your best chance is if they put the rink up before school lets out, going during a weekday.

The rink is scheduled to be available starting December 18. I’m sure public skate availability will hinge on how much response they receive from private groups renting out the ice, and at those prices, I have a feeling not many people are going to take them up on the offer.

The Red Sox claim they have more people willing to rent it out than they have ice time for rent.
And according to Sam Kennedy, executive vice president and COO of the Red Sox as well as president of Fenway Sports Group, there has been no shortage of folks lining up to reserve the time.
"I can tell you that the interest [in one-hour rentals] has been overwhelming,’’ said Kennedy. "The price has not been a deterrent whatsoever. Hey, I still play beer-league hockey, so I hear you loud and clear over how some people might compare these prices. But this is geared, really, to our corporate base.’’
I’ll just be glad when this bullshit is over and we can stop talking about the Winter Classic.

I guess that makes sense.
Personally, I’m loving the Winter Classic hype. It seems like people in Boston are annoyed by it already, but whatever. I can’t wait to go.
