Good for Biden, at least he made on good decision in his life. Just don’t let him drop the puck.

Forsberg
Here is a report stating the Flyers are interested in adding Forsberg from Mark Miller of Yahoo Sports. http://bleacherreport.com/tb/b1n1G I think this topic is worth its own post if one of you guys would like to add it unless this Miller guy is unreliable. Ilkka Sinasalo is on is way over to Europe to watch him play, could be nothing as I would imagine our European scout would be over there for this tournament with or without Peter the Great.

That’s all wrong. The Flyers aren’t interested in Forsberg and Sinisalo was going to scout the Karjala Cup prior to even knowing Forsberg would even be there.
As first reported in the Daily News in September, the Flyers have zero interest in Forsberg. That much has not changed, two different NHL sources confirmed on Tuesday. Reports surfaced this week that the Flyers sent European scout Ilkka Sinisalo to Helsinki to watch Forsberg. Instead, Sinisalo had planned to attend the tournament before Forsberg committed.

happening to like/know of the Flyers is one thing it is it is a completely different thing to be fan, Obama is a White Sox fan / avid sports fan in general he has shown that with his comments and wearing the White Sox hat to the All-Star game, ask Biden who Bobby Clarke is a see what kind of stammering answer you get before you give him credit for being a fan
P.S. Regardless of your political views Sarah Palin will make for an excellent cougar, looking damn good for 45.

All political views and discussion aside, why is it hard to believe that Joe Biden is actually a Flyers fan? He was born in Scranton and has lived all of his life (except when he was in law school) well within Flyers territory. Granted there are varying levels of being a fan, but it’s not like he’s ever given a different answer. It’s well-documented that his wife Jill is a serious Flyers fan, and if you search (and weed through the articles about Sarah Palin’s puck drop that come up) you can find references dating back over the recent years where his status as a Flyers fan and someone who attends at least a few games a year are mentioned.
Besides, the people I work with didn’t know how dedicated I am to Flyers until I had been there a whole year; then a conversation came up where I quoted stats to them and they realized it. There just hadn’t been a reason to talk about it before, but yet I’m here several times a day so obviously I care about my team. Point is, you don’t have to make a big deal about it at work to be a fan of the team on your own time. Obama is much more casual about the things he does on his off time than the status quo in Washington, so he’s been vocal about his teams; but just because you don’t know who most of the politicians root for doesn’t mean they all don’t like sports, maybe they’ve just never had a reason to talk about it.

You have to be casual about your dedication to sports teams when you are a politician, because believe it or not, there are people out there who will base their vote on what team you support. It’s one of the taboo’s of appropriate dinner party conversation, dontchaknow:
1) no politics
2) no religion
3) no sports

That is totally the case for me. Don’t talk to me about politics, religion or sports unless you are ready to actually get into it because I feel very strongly about all of them. One of my professors came into class on Thursday, she is from North Jersey, saw that I had my Phillies jersey on and starting proclaiming how the Yankees won the World Series. My immediate response was motioning a needle injecting into my arm. She claimed that I was being a sore loser, to which I pulled out my wallet and started to throw cash all over the room, while spouting off the Yankees’ payroll statistics and how without CC Sabathia, A.J. Burnett, Mark Teixeira. A-Roid, Swisher, Damon the Yankees would be nothing. Then I explained how the majority of the Phillies are home grown. Everyone in the class was just staring at me. My teacher then says “Oh, well I only watched a little bit of the WS. I couldn’t even stay awake for the whole game last night.” I responded by saying “thats what I thought!” . . . and then I failed her test lol

haha, that’s slightly evil. But I agree with people not talking to me about them if they don’t want to actually talk about it.
