says Philly.com. Maybe a goalie. Maybe a scorer.

Some interesting talk about gettin offered Tampa Bay's Mike Smith for Giroux or van Riemsdyk (no way), or perhaps Anaheim's right winger Bobby Ryan and a No. 1 pick for Carter.

Thoughts? Do the Flyers need to make a move? At all costs? I don't want to see us unload some key pieces for a chance at the playoffs this year.

At the same time, maybe that's all the team needs to throw it back into the gear they were in to start the season. Do more drastic moves need to be made to be competitive?

Thats really not what that article says.

haha, it’s not an exact quote, but yes. That is really what the article says.

Would you deal the soon-to-be-25-year-old Carter for Ryan and, say, a No. 1 pick? Just wondering.

No, it doesn’t.

It says there are other teams scouting the Flyers. Then it goes on to speculate wildly about who the Flyers should acquire.

There’s not a single sentence in there suggesting the Flyers are actively pursuing a trade.

Yeah — it’s all speculation there.

I did find another source saying things more definitively, though. Up on the front page now.

Please not Giroux

having read the article now, it would appear Giroux is safe

Carter may have to go, he’s the logical choice now. Plus you get the benefit of sending Richie’s favorite drinking buddy packing. Maybe Richie will wake up as the C . . . Probably not. I still say give Pronger the C, i don’t want to hear about it for the next 7 years.

Right, because Toronto totally has a ton of good players, and a good variety of draft picks at their disposal for Homer to choose from… hopefully he stays away from Burke.

Wrong.

Mike Smith is not good. If we are going to trade Carter, we better get some actual quality in return. Stay away from Tampa.
