Is Knubles absence becoming more glaring. This team needs a John Leclair type of presence in front of the pipes. And you’re right the fight was or should be embarassing to Richie. Give Pronger Gagnes “A”
I don’t know. It’s not like Hartnell isn’t able to crash the net or set up shop there. Isn’t that a big part of Briere’s game? They just aren’t doing it. They are playing with hesitancy or playing scared, take your pick. No one is positioning themselves near the net to get that big rebound.
The problem is that Hartnell hasn’t been setting up in front of the net the same way Knuble did. Last night, I saw Hartnell constantly positioned in front of the net, but he was letting Luongo get a clear view of the play the entire time. If you’re not going to screen the goalie, you’re only doing half the job. And at that point, why even be in front of the net?
