Good. He needs time off, if nothing else.

Hopefully this injury is the explanation for his poor play. At this point, it is kinda a relief that he is injured thus explaining why he has been a sieve, and not necessarily that he has lost that rhythm he had during the start of the season.

According the Frank Seravalli’s twitter, “…Johan Backlund has been summoned from Adirondack.”

They are saying that he has a abdominal tear and might need surgery

Abdominal tear and might need surgery? That means he’ll be out for a long time, right?

Does Biron look any better now?

Friday night I predicted the Flyers would collapse worse than the 2006-07 team.

I’d say they just hit that mark.

Any collapse would be worse than the 2006-07 team. That team just sucked from the get-go.

I envy you.

It must be nice to cheer this team’s demise just so you can be proven right.

Seriously. All the promise and excitement of the early part of this season is going up in smoke and you’re gloating about making an accurate prediction about how much we suck.

There was no promise, it was a myth.

Most people I know think I’m a Flyers homer. Read some of the stuff I posted from back in July. I was penciling this team in a the Cup favorite.

But the facts are the facts and I’m not going to bury my head in the sand. the “promise of early season”. What promise? They were playing mediocre hockey against crappy teams. All the little things they were getting away with, when other teams tightened up, they can’t get away with anymore.

So much for the goalie controversy. Should I start drinking now or wait until the game starts?

haha, start drinking the first time Backlund plays well.

He’s been unbelievable with the Phantoms. Pretty much the only reason they’ve had any success.

Abdominal? And this is on top of the “right hand” injury that the Flyers haven’t disclosed? Welcome to hell.

by Ben Feldman on Dec 8, 2009 6:18 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

The right hand injury came after he punched the doctor when he told him he needed abdominal surgery.

Wow that’s brutal. I can’t even begin to imagine what an abdominal tear must feel like.
