Briere hoping for Friday; two sent down

Danny Briere is likely to play on Friday night against the Montreal Canadiens, the Flyers PR blog On The Fly announced Monday. It is possible he will return on Wednesday night against LA, but that is not as likely. The team also announced that Josh Gratton and Jon Kalinski were sent down to the Phantoms. The two do not clear any additional cap room as they are currently on long term injury reserve and their salaries do not go against the cap. The Flyers need to clear approximately two million in cap space before Briere returns to action.
