Random Thought on Broadcast
With the advent of HD, Comcast is still sticking with the pop up bottom scoreboard. Why?
I remember first seeing this bottom line scoreboard on ESPN years ago with scores at :28 and :58. It looked bad then as the entire screen shrunk, and it looks even worse now in HD. I'm sure Comcast has the ability to put scores up in a box in a corner or along the bottom of the current game scoreboard like they do with Power Plays, yet they continue to use the outdated mode. While I'm sure this is trivial, I'd rather not sacrifice picture quality to notice that the Drexel v. Delaware basketball game still hasn't started yet. I'm sure there can be something done to fix this. Then again, I could be the only person who is bothered about this.

Real good point. It irks me too. I don’t mind it during intermission (in fact I kinda like it then) but during the game I don’t want other scores on my screen taking room away. If you want, flash an out of town NHL scoreboard during a stoppage in play here and there and maybe a Sixers/Phillies/Eagles score update if those teams are playing. But the ticker at the bottom definitely takes something away from the game.
