losing upshall was an ugly necessity… i think the flyers needed to create an open spot for some young guys coming in next year.

not at all a necessity. There’s a good chance we’ll move Lupul since the organization doesnt seem enamored with him either and he’s due a jump in salary and Knuble will be another year older (I forget if he’s a restricted free agent soon or not). If anything those are the guys to guy to make room. Trading Upshall was far from a necessity.

allow me to clarfiy

about Lupul and Knuble – i didnt mean trading Knuble now he’s way too valuable, but once the off season comes around both of them may be gone. So in the offseason those are the guys that might go, there was no need to dump Upshall now before the playoffs. I dont care if it made a little extra room so we supposedly dont need to send GIroux down, send freaking Asham or Cote down, who cares if we’re without an enforcer for a couple games. Totally unnecessary to trade Upshall.
