So who gets the 2010 Winter Classic?
Teams like the Avalanche, Bruins and Rangers will be lining up to lobby NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, the Philadelphia Daily News reports. The most interesting bid: A Flyers-Pittsburgh Penguins game in Penn State's Beaver Stadium?
That matchup has lots to offer: decent teams, good rivalry, great venue and Sidney Crosby to boot.
"There is no formal process for something like this," Comcast-Spectacor president Peter Luukko said. "We have talked to the league and the Penguins about playing at Penn State or elsewhere. We are all interested in the idea, but there have been no formal discussions."
- Steve Schrader, Detroit Free Press.
Nothing new to report here, but the fact that the idea is still circulating in the media is always a good sign.

Also lots of funny real and photoshopped pics from both flyers and pens fans located here.
I was all for it last year when they rumored it would be a 2008/09 possibility. I’m all for it in 2009/10 and any year after that.
