In an odd twist, the Phantoms will open the playoffs at home tonight, despite the fact that they are the number four seed playing the number one seed, Hershey. The Bears' home, GIANT Center, is hosting Disney On Ice this weekend and cannot hold games one or two, so the Phantoms get a bit of an advantage.

Hershey still holds home ice edge, though. They will host games three, four, five, and seven. If anybody is heading to the Spectrum tonight and wants to write a recap of the game for BSH, shoot me an email.

1-1 in 2nd period (13:55 left)

What an unorthodox order of games 2-3-1-1. Creativity in the AHL is impressive.

It’s because Giant Center in Hershey has events already scheduled. Disney on Ice in this case. This seems to happen every year come playoff time to a series of two due to arena bookings.

Bears won 4-2. From what I could tell listening to the first 2 periods the ref had a quick whistle early in the game and there wasn’t a lot of flow as a result.
