"Early in Game 3 against the Penguins, Jeff kind of fell into the boards awkwardly and separated his shoulder. It won’t require surgery, but it was enough of an injury it hampered him. He just can’t play right now. He needs to rest it. He’s a tough kid because he kept playing through it. We think it’s between a Grade I and Grade II separation. He’ll need three or four weeks of rest or rehab."

Injuries
Not to make excuses, but learning about this injury along with the shoulder problems Richards had makes the series loss a bit easier to deal with.
It also helps me to be less mad at Jeff for sucking, especially in those last 3 or 4 games.

From one Flyers fan in Connecticut to another, it doesn’t make the series loss any easier for me to deal with, haha. When I think about how our end to last season may have been hastened by injuries, and how this season’s ending may have been made quicker by injuries, it hurts even more, really. There’s nothing that could have been done to prevent the injuries, of course, but at the same time, I’d much rather lose due to a lack of talent than to talent being injured and unable to play 100%. But maybe that’s just me.
