The Boston Bruins are in pursuit of Tomas Kaberle and a top 10 pick in today's draft.
Sources tell TSN the Bruins have offered restricted free agent forward Phil Kessel to Toronto in exchange for Leaf defenceman Kaberle and Toronto's No. 7 pick in the draft.
The Leafs are apparently canvassing the league to see if there are any better offers out there.
-- TSN. Kaberle won't be a Flyer.
Note from Travis: Word here is that the team is still strong on Jay Bouwmeester and that the Flyers are one of four teams still in the mix. Expect him to be traded today.

I really question if Vancouver can afford Bouwmeester and the Sedins, plus their other UFAs which include Mats Sundin, Ohlund, and one Ossi Vaananen. Eklund says we’re looking at Ohlund, which, if true, would be interesting. Anyone think we might try to get Vaananen back? I liked him.
*Sources continue to tell me that the Canucks are on the inside track for Jay Bo…And the flyers are considering upping the offer.
Nothing new but the “upping the offer” part scares me A LOT! JBO is gonna be the death of us haha.

Very interesting bullet point from that article
*The Flyers like Ohlund a lot as well.
Overlooking the normal caveat of “depending on the price”, I’m okay with this one. It will be a cost savings at some level, and it comes without the circus act that is dealing with Florida right now.

trade em'
trade danny b for jbouw’s rights. briere is killing us with the cap and we could sign jbouw for about the same as briere

if toni rajala is available for the flyers at the 21st pick they need to take that kid. pure offensive dynamite. having him giroux and jvr would be pretty sweet

Cap goes up :)
Since I guess this has become the placeholder for the live draft thread, USA Today hockey writer Kevin Allen via Twitter:
Ran into NHLPA exec Glenn Healy and he confirmed that the salary cap will be $57.8 next season, up $100,000. The NHL hasn’t confirmed that.
