Lasse Kukkonen to Play in KHL
Free agent Lasse Kukkonen signed a two-year contract with Avangard Omsk.
Not a huge surprise--the Flyers weren't exactly making him any huge offers. Or any offer, for that matter.

Dear Lasse Kukkonen:
Thank you for your play in April and early May of 2008. Thank you for giving us Tom Bladon and Doug Crossman’s number back.
Other than that, thanks for nothing. Good luck in Russia.

Bring back Seidenberg.

The Early 2000's
My roommate used to joke that Flyers-Senators games in the early 2000’s were scientific matchups. We had Dennis Seidenberg and they had Shaun Van Allen. Of course, it was Seidenberg’s Uncertainty Principle vs. the Van Allen Belt. (And yes, I know it’s Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle in real life.)
Wherever Shaun Van Allen is nowadays, I hope he’s got a nice belt. Maybe he’s got a really big one with the words “Van Allen” spelled out in rhinestones. Now THAT would be a proper “Van Allen Belt.”
