Nah, don’t mind at all. The quality of the video is like a traffic camera, you’re not missing much.
The thread is more active over at Japers Rink (http://www.japersrink.com/2009/9/11/1026110/caps-flyers-rookie-game-open-thread#comments) if you want to catch up there…

Ben here is some company for discussion go JVR go. As the resident BSH JVR fanboy I have to talk up my boy.
He’s been by far the best player on the ice today. Not saying much, but it’s something.

Kevin Marshall scores to put the Flyers back on top on a rebound, 3-2.
This game is such a rollercoaster of emotions, I don’t know how anyone can stand it…

Marshall looks good do you think these guys are laying off a little bit on the physical side of things? Who scored the 4th goal I missed it.
Seems decently physical to me. And sorry, I missed the fourth goal too.

JVR again “a beast” by the whoever is announcing this. Where are all my JVR doubters, Geoff I am calling you out.
I'm answering your call
JVR showed immense talent today. Kid’s backhand goal was straight up sick. He also showed great skill with the puck. But his passes are hit or miss, and to be honest, Nodl worked the boards better than he did today.
Not knocking JVR at all – he scored 4 goals today – but he didn’t make me believe he’s ready for the NHL today. He did, however, convince me that he won’t be in the AHL for all 82 games. After today, I fully expect him to play 40 games for the Flyers this year.

JVR definitely looked good but I don’t know that you can really extrapolate any of that towards what he can do in the NHL right now. Except for John Carlson (Thanks again GMPH) the D the Caps had dressed were ECHL quality at best. Holtby also didn’t have a very good day. I agree that he was the best guy on the ice today but take it with a grain of salt.
A man must have a code.
6-3 Flyguys. Didn’t catch the name of the scorer, but Bellamy set up the play with a real nice assist.

Maroon, Dingle, Matsumoto, Riopel, Bartulis, Ratchuk, Laliberte, Duchesne, and Teslak were the rookies who sat out today’s game

lots of penalties in this rookie game if the NHL is officiating this I guess they didn’t learn from the success of the Stanley Cup finals and LET THEM PLAY I haven’t remembered a game where there were two 5 minute non-fighting majors called against the same tea.
The ref was AHL, and the linesmen were from the ECHL and AHL.

thanks for the updates
sounds like a great game and good news for some guys that need to step it up and win a roster spot
Quick
I commented through here as I read them, but I didn’t get service inside the Skate Zone. Crappy phone. My twitter updates were in between period when I would go outside.
Will definitely have a full wrap later tonight, including the numerous players who impressed me, a few who showed flashes, a few who revealed the limits of their game, and because faceoffs has been a big topic, I actually kept track (missed 1 or 2 at the end of the game) throughout.

No Maroon is disappointing
I would have loved to see / hear Maroon out there today. I would as love to see him play with JVR even at the AHL level. 2 kids of that size would be fun to have out there together reminds me of the old Legion of Doom. Glad to hear that Nodl played well I think he will make the team in a checking role I am still not sure if he has the hands or shot to score at the NHL level but he has the speed and hockey sense to be a solid 3rd line guy.
