Report: Flyers toss out a contract, Betts signing imminent?
CSN Philly is reporting that the Flyers have traded the contract of prospect Patrik Hersley to Nashville for future considerations, bumping the team's number of contracts down to 48, two away from the limit. The only conceivable reason for the team to trade away a contract for nothing is to make room for another one, and in this case, offering a contract to Blair Betts seems like the possible outcome.
Stay tuned for more.

We got him with Ned Lukacevic (who is now in Boston) for Denis Gauthier and a 2nd round pick, yes. It was necessary to throw in the pick to get rid of Gauthier, presumably.
