Ranking the Flyers: Number 5
Welcome Chris Pronger to the list, as he more than doubled the second place finisher Simon Gagne. WIth 45% of the vote, Pronger is off the board fourth.
Gagne is the only other player reaching at least 10% of the vote last round, so one would assume he's the favorite for #5. Claude Giroux and Ray Emery are the next closest.
Let the voting begin for #5!
- Mike Richards
- Kimmo Timonen
- Jeff Carter
- Chris Pronger

i like the results so far...
but i gotta say go with giroux this round. he’s young with a great future in him (hopefully all with the flyers). emery next because he’s got alot to prove. gagne after that. not because he isnt good. but because thats just how stacked this team is this year. im so pumped
So right now you’d be more upset if Ray Emery blew an ACL than if Carter or Gagne did? Gotta question the analysis on that one. With Manny Fernandez, Manny Legace and some other veteran goalies of similar caliber still available losing Emery doesn’t really hurt PHI all that much. From a Caps fan perspective, there are a ton of guys on PHI that I’d like to poach before Ray Emery.
A man must have a code.
well yes. we dont know how he will play and i hope he does great. not a huge fan of carter. he just had a lucky year of closing his eyes and putting the puck on the net.

The year, Y! Sports used the Rotowire draft kit rankings to establish the default list, which is found below. Here’s the Top 10:
1 Alexander Ovechkin(notes), LW
2 Evgeni Malkin, C
3 Sidney Crosby, C
4 Zach Parise(notes), LW
5 Corey Perry(notes), RW
6 Ryan Getzlaf(notes), C
7 Jeff Carter(notes), C
…
27 Mike Richards(notes), C
58 Chris Pronger(notes), D
75 Ray Emery(notes), G
To be fair
Carter is obviously a better pick for fantasy numbers. Not sure how they calculate defensive stats, but I’m sure there is no more than 2 defensemen in the top 30

Gagne
gets my vote, killed penalties, PP. But I am on the fence between him and Claude. I just think Gags has more experience and a better skill set for now.
Tough pick....
I went with Giroux, but, It could have been Gags. The only reason I took Giroux was the energy he has and the unbelievable way he sees the ice. He impressed me every time he touched the puck last year. I think that Gags still has a great scoring ability and his pk wasnt bad, but Giroux was impressive in the pk dept also……. Slight nod to Giroux for abilities over Gags experience.
Giroux over Gagne?
Interesting that many are picking Giroux as more valuable over Gagne after half a season of hockey under his belt. He would be worthy of this (my) vote if he proved himself after a sophmore season and showed he could produce consistently. Gagne has done that pretty much his entire carrer.
