Ask A Flyer: Matt Carle
Next up in our weekly Ask A Flyer segment, in partnership with Anthony SanFilippo of the Delco Times, we'll be chatting with Flyers defenseman Matt Carle.
The American-born product of the University of Denver -- who, when ever I type his name in our photo search tool, returns results for the same damn photo of Matt Holliday hitting a home run off of Carl Pavano -- will answer the questions you submit in the comments below.

Are you working with any governing bodies (NHL, NCAA) to increase the awareness/testing of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy?
Where do you display your Hobey Baker award?
Do you feel that you will regain the form you had with Pronger last year by Thanksgiving? Christmas? Valentines Day?

is there a different love of the game by defensemen?
what’s your favorite play as a defenseman, for example, back-checking to break-up a 2-on-1, guiding a forward to the outside then finishing him off against the boards, firing a cannon from the point, etc.

You’ve had varying degrees of success playing under different coaches and different systems. Nowhere has this been more evident than in Philadelphia. You’ve been successful playing with Braydon Coburn in John Stevens’ more defensive system, as well as with Chris Pronger under Peter Laviolette’s more uptempo system.
What environmental factors do you feel help you to be the best player you can be? Is it the system you play in, your partner on the ice, a combination of those along with your natural ability, or what?
Do you see what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps?

Last year you had what many would call your best season in your NHL career. How much of that do you attribute to your own development and how much to the presence of future Hall-of-Famer Chris Pronger?
Simon Gagne may move between towns, wear new jerseys and call different arenas home, but at the end of the day, he will always be a Philadelphia Flyer.

Matt, did you think you had a decent shot at making the 2010 US Olympic team, and is making the squad in 2014 a goal of yours?
I’m also trying to think of some sort of Alaska question, but it’s not coming to me.

What do you think is the #1 thing you’ve most improved on since you played in the NHL from playing with guys like Pronger. Have you broken any bad habits for instance?
