CHICAGO - JUNE 06: Danny Briere #48 of the Philadelphia Flyers lies on the ice after being injured during the third period in Game Five of the 2010 NHL Stanley Cup Final against the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center on June 6, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois. (Photo by Bruce Bennett/Getty Images)
Danny Briere has been suspended three games for a cross-check to the head of New York's Frans Nielsen on Saturday night. The team confirmed the news.
Briere will miss tonight's game against Carolina, Thursday's game against the New York Rangers and Saturday's game against those same New York Islanders. The threat of retaliation in Saturday's game might have something to do with the length of the suspension.
What do you think? Fair deal?
