Matt Walker sent to Phantoms on conditioning stint

Stay connected for news and updates

Matt Walker has never played a real game with the Flyers. In fact, we only have one really bad photo of him available in our library. So, here he is with Tampa last season... against the Flyers.

Defenseman Matt Walker has been sent to the Adirondack Phantoms on a conditioning stint, according to the Flyers. He'll play with the Phantoms, and goaltender Michael Leighton, tonight as they take on the Syracuse Crunch.

Walker is allowed to stay with the Phantoms for up to 14 days. The loan has no bearing on the salary cap or anything like that. The Flyers are just trying to get a read on Walker's health.

The original diagnosis on Walker had him missing 10 to 12 weeks after hip surgery. That was October 19, seven weeks ago. Do with that information as you please.
