After returning to the lineup for a handful of games, Dan Carcillo will be a healthy scratch yet again tonight, as it appears the six-day layoff between games has pushed Carbomb out of the lineup.
At the morning skate in Vancouver (which took place at around 2:30 p.m. Eastern), Carcillo was the last skater on the ice. Shelley told the assembled Philadelphia media that he'd be in the lineup this evening.
Is this the right move for the Flyers? Carcillo didn't hurt the team in the few games he saw before the break, but he didn't necessarily make an impact either. A brief example: he didn't do anything to rev up the team in that 5-0 loss to Florida last Monday. Perhaps that was the death knell for Carcillo?
Who knows. Peter Laviolette will never get that specific with us. That doesn't mean we can't debate the merits of this move, though. Will Shelley be able to make an impact tonight against a very good Vancouver team? We'll see.
The game thread tonight will be up early -- around 7 p.m. Eastern. Feel free to join us and talk Eagles before the late puck drop on the West Coast.
