Gabriel Desjardins looks at a variety of statistics, but what's important to note here is that James van Riemsdyk is 29th in the entire NHL in points per 60 minutes of 5-on-5 ice time. Arron Asham is 38th.

yes he may have one of the best points per 60 min of 5v5 in the league, but hartnell is still preforming 10x better, and jvr is a hudge defensive liability to the team, he should be sent down to the minors for a few seasons (possibly the echl) so he can learn the simple concepts of how to play hockey
on a serious note, good for JVR, i cant wait to see how him and giroux preform with top 6 minutes!!!
