Vokoun on the block
So it appears as if Tomas Vokoun might be available. Should the flyers make a play for him? i don't know what his contract situation is like but i do know that he has a no-trade clause. If they do make a play who would the flyers give up to get this severely underrated goalie? Would you trade say coburn for vokoun if the panthers were inclined to do so? To me that deal would seem like a pretty easy decision for the flyers front office.

He’s a big name, but I don’t know if Leighton has shown yet that he can’t be counted on.

Broad Street Hockey.
Cap hit of 5.7 through next year, then an UFA. Has a no movement clause. Putting up some really impressive numbers this year. 2.36 GAA, .930 SV%, but seems like he’s not getting the goal support.
However those numbers are very similar to Leighton’s, (2.19, .925) although in considerably less games. I agree that Leighton has earned the chance to prove himself down the line, and if he does, he certainly will be much cheaper than the other goalies available.
leighton is is playing great no doubt about it but i would feel more comfortable with a goalie that has a proven track record

Love Vokoun
But I just don’t think the Flyers can swing anything during the season for him that would work for both sides even if Vokoun would waive his no-trade clause.
Too bad Florida wouldnt take Emery + Hartnell for him.
Can you do 3 team trades in hockey?
