"I don’t have an answer for that right now because I wouldn’t take someone out of my lineup. He’s a skilled guy, from what I hear, strong on the puck, but I have not seen him."

-- Peter Laviolette, speaking to CSN on where Ville Leino fits in the lineup

Also, every report I’ve seen says Leino is the exact opposite of strong with the puck.

Yep.

Really glad that Laviolette is so enamored with a lineup that just got shutout by a backup goalie on the worst team in the NHL.

Wait, I have a question.

Who do you think told Laviolette that Leino is strong on the puck? It has to have been Holmgren, right? Who else would be telling Laviolette about the new acquisition?

Holy fuck…

It could’ve been a scout or the director of player personnel or something. I wouldn’t jump to that conclusion.

a scout or the director of player personnel

That’s supposed to be reassuring?

Nope, just that it’s not necessarily all on Homer, but on… well, everybody.

Well better question…what was the point of this trade if not to play the guy? If we are as short on D as they say we are, then why would you trade a Dman(I use that lightly) for a guy that won’t even get to play? Especially when you also traded a draft pick.
