According to Hockeysverige, Joacim Eriksson has signed a two-year deal to play for Elitserien team Skellefteå. Skell's coach stated that they picked him up because he has good hands in addition to good blocking ability. He's also considered to be calm and disciplined. He'll probably start the season as a backup to Andreas Hadelov, who was the goalie that got them promoted from Allsvenskan to Elitserien. This is another step in young Eriksson's development, and I believe it to be good news, as it means he'll face better competition, hopefully in preparation for coming over to North America.
