How did you motivate him to play this well? Send him a fan letter expressing your love and belief in him? A kiss on the cheek? Something far dirtier?
Proudly supporting a Flyers team with "no honor."
It was very similar to this.

come on i’m excited to see if he can channel that all time record shut out streak for the next round, what was it, 5 games in a row without giving up a goal
pretty much only way those numbers improve
If he could shut out the Capitals for 4 games in a row, then he should get some sort of award.

How about he doesn’t get bought out over the off season? :-) Boucher’s series against the Devils made next year’s situation even more complex.
Made things simpler if you ask me. If Homer is able to get a young goalie with relatively little NHL experience (Bernier, Neuvirth), having someone who is clearly capable of starting while you work that young goalie in isn’t a bad thing. Boosh is starting game 1 next year, no doubt about that. But as the season progresses, if the young goalie proves himself to be an NHL goalie, the friendly competition starts.
Of course, that’s assuming Homer doesn’t just re-sign Leighton and announce to the world that his team finally has Cup-quality goaltending.

I agree. Boosh and new young goalie tandem would be more than acceptable.
What do you do with Leighton though? I know that he’s off contract, but do the Flyers owe him anything for playing so well when he was needed to?

Boosh is starting game 1 next year, no doubt about that.
It almost brings a tear to my eye…
