Prior to Game 6, if you'll recall, we ran with the headline, "Can they actually do this?" Well, they can actually do this.
It all comes down to one game tonight -- a Game 7 for the history books, regardless of the outcome. If the Flyers win, the history is obvious: only the fourth team in major professional sports history to complete an 0-3 comeback, joining the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs, the 1975 New York Islanders and the 2004 Boston Red Sox. If the Bruins win, they'll be the first team since the Flyers in '75 to win a Game 7 after blowing an 0-3 lead.
History will be made, as the commercials do say, and yes, the Flyers can actually do this. They've had their backs against the wall before, you might know. Final game of the season versus the Rangers. One Olli Jokinen shot away from this all being different, perhaps. One Boston bounce in Game 4 from this all being different, perhaps.
This is the fifth true elimination game the Flyers have faced this season, in a year that, nine times out of 10, they probably wouldn't have even made the playoffs given their regular season record. But here they are, and win or lose, they've really proven something this postseason. Our biggest problem with this team over the last few years has been their seemingly lackadaisical attitude and their frustrating inconsistency, but they've done nothing this postseason but overcome those hurdles. It has been impressive beyond what any of us expected from this team.
But now that we're here, in this situation, staring down yet another elimination game, none of that matters. It all comes down to one game and the hope for tomorrow. The Bruins haven't faced this situation this season. They're shaking up lines, a sign of desperation, and heading into a home arena with fans ready to turn on them at the first sense of gloom.
The Flyers will be determined, as they have been for the last month, and hopefully, they can put the Bruins down early and head home with smiles on their faces. There's no reason to believe they can't. They can actually do this.
Game thread will be up at an extra early 5:00 PM ET. Many of us are heading to the Wachovia Center for Game 7, so please hold down the fort here tonight. No need to burn things down -- it's just the semifinals.

So, if Montreal actually does win the cup, what’s the over/under on deaths from rioting?

Don’t go on the thread while you are at the game (not that you wouldn’t be welcome). But enjoy the atmosphere, soak it in, Game 7’s don’t happen every day.
point well taken…i usually hit up SCoC during intermission….waitin in line for the pisser i’ll drop a line or two…maybe i’ll stop by here and do the same…but that’s only if the cell doesn’t act up

Enjoy the game! If it means anything to you, the last time a team blew a 3 games to 0 series lead only to hang on and win it in Game 7 went on to win the Stanley Cup (1975 Flyers FTW!). It’s certainly something to hang your hat on if the Bruins somehow pull out the victory tonight, though I really hope that is not the result of tonight’s game. :)

People, have a blast at the Wach tonight. If I weren’t across the Atlantic right now, I’d be there.

Actually I have played Zoltar at a place at downtown Disney in Orlando about 2 years ago and was amazed. Even checked to make sure it was plugged in. I love the movie it does have some corny parts but a great movie indeed.

I figured I might be around here for this game, but now I am beginning to realize that I might be too nervous to type anything coherent. I might give it a shot here anyway, but please, do not laugh or blast me for saying things out of emotions that make absolutely no sense whatsoever. :)
Proudly supporting a Flyers team with "no honor."
There’s no question this is an important game for the Flyers. It’s a game 7 with a ticket to the conference finals on the line. But it’s also more than that, with all the “coming back from down 0-3” history too.
With that in mind, here’s a question: When was the last Flyers game with this much importance attached to it?

You would have to say April 11, 2010, no?
How about Game 7 OT vs Caps in 2008?
You could even say games 4, 5, and 6 of this series…
In recent years, the Flyers have faced much adversity…
I agree with Christopher below that Game 7 of the Tampa series in 2004 is the answer.
I would not say 2008 for the reason being that it was still the first round of the playoffs with only a 3-1 series collapse on the line, similar to the 2000 Devils series, whereas this game on the other hand, has historical comeback and a berth in the conference finals at stake. As far as the Rangers game at the end of the season goes, I do not think you can assign it that much importance in the grand scheme of things, unless the Flyers win this and take a run at the Habs and/or the Stanley Cup. Then it will be the shootout that changed the course of history…….or something like that.
Proudly supporting a Flyers team with "no honor."
The first that comes to mind is the Tampa series in 04 the comeback in ot game six to lose the way we did in game seven. This I think is the most recent one to date not 08 or 10.

Right now my love-hate feelings about Dan Carcillo are leaning more towards the love side.
Trying to decide if the Carcillo clip amuses me more or less than the Pronger quote the other day about the goalie-go-round that’s been occuring.
Alright, well according to AccuScore
And based on an average of 10,000 game simulations,
Final Score
Bruins: 3
Flyers: 2.5
So, a tossup. Thank you computers.
-K, so you’re saying you weren’t in the building with that woman?
- No, not I! Aright, she started it, aright? Because she was like “I hate my job, I’m gonna burn this mother down!” And I said “You better not… you better not!”
-She said it was an electrical fire.
- It was. It was a total electrical fire, it was like uh, the switches had sparks comin out, and the sockets, and uh it was like the 4th of July, man!

before game 7 – 15/1
can you say best $10 bet ever

"We will steal the show, jolly Rogers go, we are wolves of the sea."
reminds me of the time my buddy put $20 on the Calgary Flames prior to the playoffs back in 2004 (I think?). They were a 25-1 shot and they came up one game 7 win short of winning it all (vs. TB).
That’s probably how I feel right now. If the Flyers win tonight, I’ll be estatic. If they lose, you get the, “wow, they were a long shot, they just came up short” feeling.

I am soo disappointed in my friends who claim to be true Flyers fans, yet won’t come with me to the Wachovia Center today! History is gonna be made, for crying out loud!
If the Flyers win tonight, and the nhl doesn’t make a “history will be made” commercial based on this series, I’m gonna be super pissed.
I hope the Flyers win tonight, because I have so many good idea’s for a history will be made commercial.

Someone needs to make a shirt based off of Carcillo’s “What, that actually went in? I actually scored?” face.
I’m happy that among the clothes I bought last weekend were an orange and white patterned shirt and black shorts. If I can’t go to the Wachovia Center tonight, at least I can wear team colors while watching the game at home. Before last weekend, the only Flyers-colored shirt I had was long sleeved and not even Flyers-orange. Blashphemy, I know.
I finally get to see this one on TV

Less than 1/2 hour. I might be sick… Maybe it has to do with starting with a 22oz 11% ABV Beer and then moving to a 10%? Well, I promised my wife I would not break anything if they lose. My friends are staying away tonight (I live in DC and they are Caps fans anyway).
