Slightly dissapointed by the Puck Daddy articles:
I expected more from the article about the Flyers as underdogs.
The goaltending article seems to just have spout off everything that everyone else has said about the goaltenders.
Chris Pronger’s odds are 25-1?! God I wish I was a gambling man.

Would we do that BJ trade to trim 1.3 off the books, grab a 4/5 Dman, and a 2nd rounder? Geoff, how would rearrange the trade to pick up Calvert?
I don’t want Klesla at all, so that’s probably a deal breaker. But if it was Hartnell and Matsumoto for Jan Hejda, Calvert, and a 3rd, I’d probably do it.
Hejda is a UFA after next season, only costing $2 mil. That frees up $2.2 mil in cap space, gets value for a guy we won’t use (Moto), brings back a nice 4/5 defenseman to hold down the fort until Bourdon is ready, and gets me Calvert.

Honestly, I’m putting $50 on Philly to win the cup, $15 on Pronger, and $15 on Briere or Richards. I don’t think Gags can win because of the missed time, although he has played amazing since coming back.

Irony
I caught some of the NHL Network replay of the Flyers – Hawks game last night, and couldn’t help noticing that should the Flyers skate off with the Cup, that the ‘Hawks actually lost the Cup by losing to the Flyers in March. Without those 2 points, we never get in and maybe the Hawks would’ve ended their drought.
(and Ed Olczyk is MUCH less annoying doing the Hawks games than he is when working for Versus or NBC……..still annoying, but much less so)

Has anybody seen an analyst pick the Flyers yet? The only one that I know of is Joe Beninati when he was on The Fanatic
I looked around yesterday and found one person picking Chicago in 5, one person picking Chicago in 7, and nine people picking Chicago in 6.
Two of the ESPN “experts” picked the Flyers: Buccigross in 6 and Burnside in 7 games…

The fact that Bucci picked the Flyers gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. The fact that Burnside picked the Flyers makes me suspect that hell has frozen over.
Honor is no substitute for victory.
I used to really love Bucci and would exchange emails with him and write-in for the mailbag…but he really had a blind-eye for the terrible job that Gretzky did in Phoenix and refused to criticize him so as not to upset their occasional meetings or golf outings. It’s a shame too because I don’t have anything personally against Gretzky and I still think he was the greatest hockey player I’ve ever gotten to see play the game. But as a team owner and head coach, he was a nepotist and he failed miserably…and those things I can (and do) blame him for.

By the way, the link to Bucci’s article. Some reasons I found amusing for why the Flyers will win:
3. Barry Melrose picked Chicago.
10. The Flyers have better playoff beards. Hands down.
13. Chris Pronger might put Patrick Kane on a hot dog bun and eat him. I don’t mean that metaphorically. I mean that literally. Relish, mustard, the whole thing. Advantage Flyers.
16. The Flyers have beaten goalies from Canada, Finland and Slovakia so far. Not satisfied with first bringing shame to cuddly Finland and their population of 5.3 million, the Flyers, in true Broad Street Bully fashion, will try to kick Finland when they are down. That’s cold.
Honor is no substitute for victory.
19. In Chicago, you get Toews, bro; in Philly, you get tased, bro………..let that be a lesson to you

That reminds me
I was reading how a bunch of Leafs fans and other visitors to our site have come away thinking that maybe not all Philly fans vomit on little girls while pelting them with snowballs packed around batteries.
Sounds to me like we’re not doing our job. I vote we start BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOing every post by a Blackhawks fan.
/not really, though a part of me does think that would be amusing for a while
I can see it getting old fast, but definitely entertaining as a starting point.
Living in Phoenix now it is hard to convince folks that all the stereotypes aren’t true, particularly while surrounded by a bunch of loud drunks at a Phillies-D-backs game.

The comments, however, are not. Why are there some many knuckledraggers in the interwebs?

Because they get to be anonymous and post idiotic stuff without repercussions. At least that’s what I think it is.

Geoff
Boosh player tees at the stadium, or so I hear.
Pilgrim: Be gone pest, and give me the Bird
Yakko: We'd love to but the FOX censors wouldn't allow it
They have a pretty cool one I would get for Geoff if I knew him personally. It’s the Flyers logo formed with Boosh’s of different sized fonts…it’s pretty darn cool actually. I figured Geoff had something to do with it.
I heard it was a real player tee, with the finals logo on it.
