Flyers Line Combinations
Gagne – Richards – Carcillo
Hartnell – Giroux – Briere
van Riemsdyk – Powe – Leino
Nodl – Betts – Asham
Pronger - Carle
Timonen - Coburn
Parent - Krajicek
Kind of a guess on the lines. I'm assuming Ross sits and Leino gets bumped down to his spot. Nodl has been good on that bottom line, so I'm assuming he sticks there. We'll see, though.

Lucic - Savard - Satan
Wheeler - Sobotka - Ryder
Begin - Whitfield - Marchand
Chara - Boychuk

Ference - Stuart
Stuart is a game-time decision, likely to play. Thornton sits for the Bruins -- he's a bum anyway.
Questions to Answer
- How does Gagne look?
- Whats the emotion like off of the start?
- The Flyers were strong in the offensive end for most of Game 3, but couldn't beat Rask or the B's defense. How do they make adjustments?
- Can Miroslav Satan not score tonight, please?
- Is this the Flyers' last game of the season?

I think it is because they like to go with the safe bet so they don’t look bad. I think sometimes you got to go out on a limb and take a chance…and if you are going to take a chance, why not take a chance on the Flyers? hahaha.

This is a hockey blog, so I don’t want to bring baseball into this, but real quick. I believe that the rays are no longer underdogs since they made it to the WS in 08. After you make it to the WS, and then continue to improve and be competitive in the AL East, and they are currently in 1st place and swept the sox at fenway, they are no longer “underdogs.” In the late 90s/early 00s when they were a basement team every season, then they were considered “underdogs” and they didn’t receive much national media attention until the 08 season and even then, it was not much.

I was watching the highlights and when the Flyers did manage to get a shot through Rask gave up huge rebounds and they were often directed into the slot. Need to capitalise on those.

Not gonna be around tonight, too much drinking to do. But, I wanted to ask a question based off Travis’ post.
What are the fans supposed to do? These are some of the best fans in sports. 35 years without a championship. Every year in the Top 5 in attendance. How are they supposed to express their displeasure?
This team means more to the people in the stands than it does to the people on the ice. When this team doesn’t live up to expectations, what are they supposed to do? We can’t just be Pens fans and stop going to games.
This isn’t rhetorical. I’d really like to know what people think, and how you’d express your displeasure.
Oh, and sorry for the OT post, but I was posting this in what I thought was the game thread and had it finished before I realized I’m an idiot.

I see your point and I’m kind of at a loss to answer you. However, I do think that this team isn’t going to respond to their supporters suddenly turn on them. I understand a “boo to motivate” mentality, I just don’t see it helping. I think just being as loud and as awesome as possible is the way to go.

No, you don’t fake the shot, you just draw it back (toe drag) and the goalie unrealisticly jumps out of the crease and you have a ton of room to shoot at.

haha, In 8+ minutes of ESTOI, The Bruins didn’t even take a shot while Betts was on the ice. In 18 minutes of ESTOI, the Bruins only had one SOG and one Missed shot (4 blocked) while Timonen was on the ice.

Part of the problem, I believe, is that the lack of injuries throughout the year and basically needing to win every game, meant that no one got called up for Lavvy to try out.

Someone help me with something. Didn’t it used to be a rule that if a player was in the defensive zone by himself when the puck was played, icing wasn’t called? Or did I make that up?
