Off-Topic: Pearl Jam = Recovering from Terrible Sports Weekend

Well, apart from having a good round of golf and Roy Halladay's perfect game, that was a pretty dismal sports weekend for the Philly fan in me (and there was no positive news from the Coyotes ownership front, so we'll just call that a bad weekend as well).

So I came in to work in a fairly miserable mood and not really expecting to have that mood improve at all.  I've been avoiding postgame threads (reading, not commenting today) and not really watching NHL On the Fly because I just haven't felt a need to watch the processed recaps for these 2 games.  [For the record, I agree with those saying that this reminds them of the Boston series in that the Flyers played very well and the series could be very different.  The problem being that for the once-in-a-generation Flyers-Bruins series, there are plenty more that just don't turn around.  See, e.g., Red Wings-Sharks, Sharks-Blackhawks]

But little did I know that something would indeed arrive that has cheered me up, big time.  The box set from Pearl Jam's closing of the Spectrum last October.  Unfortunately, having moved to Phoenix in May 2005, I was unable to attend the multitude of PJ shows in Philly of recent years.  Thankfully, PJ tapes and releases these shows so that I at least get to listen to them, and I've been waiting for this 4-show box set for a long time now.  Let me say that, thus far, it is absolutely awesome!

So, for those still stressed out, I highly recommend you kick up the tunes that put you in a happy place until tomorrow at 8 PM EST.  It's not over yet and you might as well be in a great mood between now and then.  And if you are a PJ fan and haven't already bought/ordered your Spectrum box set, I don't know what you are waiting for...
