EA drops the ball(or should I say puck) with new cover boy...

I know there are at least a couple fans of EA's NHL series here at BSH and as we all know with last year brought Patrick Kane as cover boy...(which was fine til about a week ago)

I was also thoroughly convinced that it was going to be a goaltender with the trend of players they have had as cover boy in past years (Staal, Phanuef, Kane...I'd figure Miller or Halak were due) Man was I ever wrong...in the worst way.

Think you are going to get relief from losing the Cup this year Flyers fans? Think again....take a look at the "super original" choice for cover boy on NHL 11....shame.

I’d be ok with it if Toews had actually done something during the SCF’s other than get handed an award he didn’t deserve. Other than that, Toews is a fine choice for the cover.

But it should have been Ryan Miller.

If 2k didn’t have Kesler as their 2011 cover boy and if it was going to be a skater (not goalie, or D). I thought the Sedins would be a good cover pic.

Yeah Miller, Bryzgalov, Halak, Rinne were some of my choices…never saw Toews coming. He really shouldn’t have. Not saying he is not a good player, just kind of shows a slight favoritism that could be a thorn in some fans side.

I would have no problem with Towes having the cover if it wasn’t for this reason. How can you pick guys for the cover in back to back years

No worries..

There are plenty of good photo shoppers out there that make pretty damn good cover inserts for the game. I got a nice one of Giroux for my NHL 10 So really does it even matter?

agreed, its not that I don’t respect Toews and his abilities but I’m more for variety. Like the Pens having two Winter Classics in less than 5 years.

From what I’ve read, though I’ve to find it again, someone with “no affiliation” with EA gained access to their servers and put that up. Could just be wishful thinking, but I do hope that’s true.

If it makes everyone feel better, it could be Sidney Crosby…………although I’m wondering why they would do Blackhawks two years in a row. Ryan Miller, any of the Flyers after Game 7 of Bruins series celebrating are my two votes.
