A Skilled Winger
The Flyers need a skilled winger to play with Richards and Gagne on the first line and Giroux and JVR on the third line. Here are a couple of UFA wingers that I wouldn't mind seeing wear the orange and black
Last Season : 21-37-58, -6, 80 GP
He's a top line player who played with one of the best centers in the game in Eric Staal last season. He's also won the cup with Peter Laviolette in 06-07 with the Hurricanes, so he already knows his system.
Last Season : 24-37-61, -17, 82 GP
I wanted the Flyers to pick him up after he left Buffalo, but he was kind of a risk because he has a history with injuries. Since he played 82 games with the thrashers last season, I'd say that his injuries are behind him. He's a great puck handler and can pull off a skilled deke every once in a while.
Last Season : 15-14-29, +6, 79 GP
He's a tough guy who would probably be better on the third line rather then the first. He's a better version of Asham who can also kill penelties.
Last Season : 11-19-30, -17, 80 GP
He had a pretty good stint with the flyers between 2000-2002, and I always thought he was a lucky charm in the playoffs, winning cups with Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh.
Last Season : 17-21-38, +2, 82 GP
I've been a fan of this guy for a while, specifically because of his feud with Ryan Kesler, and Kesler's a tool. He's a solid third line winger and an emerging power forward, who could benefit from playing with Giroux.
These players won't come cheap, so hopefully the fact that the Flyers are now the defending Eastern Conference Champions will help lure some of these players to Broad St.

I want two votes. I would want both Whitney and Ladd after we dump Carter. The only thing is I think Carter could bring in a solid first line winger and possibly a pick or a prospect. The only thing we would need then is a third line winger. That’s just my opinion.

Wouldn’t really be thrilled with any of these guys… Whitney and Ladd are nice but I’d like to see the Flyers try and move guys around. I think they have enough talent in their organization to save their money on this position and solve the problem from within.
"Game 7's are tough... It's a game that's made for men and our guys proved to be men today." -Laviolette
What if we did a sign-and-trade with Carolina?
(because lets face it – Carolina has, at times, become Flyers South)
Get rights to negotiate (and then secure contracts) with Whitney and Justin Peters, then trade Carter for those two. It’s not the most ideal move, but it might be something to explore.

The Carolina guy I want is
Jamie McBain, but I think they’re about as likely to let him go as they are Peters given that by letting Legace go Rutherford has made him backup to Ward.

won't come cheap my ass
Ray Whitney LW is 38 years old and made 3.550 million last year. His salary will go down to way down. He is almost 40.
Afinogenov RW 29 years old made only 0.800 million last year he is not going to cost more than 2 million.
Armstrong RW 26 years old made 2.4 million last year and with a huge 29 pt season I would also expect him to come no higher than that for sure.
Fedtenko LW 30 years old made a huge 1.8 million last year a contract he signed after winning the cup with the Pens the year before in which he scored 9 more points in 15 fewer games. His plus minus dropped from a +18 to a -17. That is a minus 35 difference.
Andrew Ladd LW is RFA and made 1.55 million for the cap strapped Hawks. Since signing him will cost you compensation picks I wouldn’t expect any huge offers for a 40 point player.
Not sure about Whitney
His asking price may ultimately come down (see: Biron, Martin), but it sounds like he still wants to get paid big. (via Canes Country)

Patrick Sharp in a trade…. But that is never gonna happen haha. I want Afinigenov, he’d score about a trillion goals playing with Claude and Reemer.

Honestly, you never really know. The only issue would be that we would have to send some low paid, good prospects to them in order to get him and it would eat up some decent cap space. Chicago is going to be all over the market trying to move certain players and I think Sharp will be a hot one for them. I would love to see him back in the Black and Orange and he would be a perfect fit for us again. The only issue is we need a RW, not a LW for this org. If he can switch sides, I say throw at least a line out to Chicago to see if they are interested.

I have seen him listed at Center but I thought he played RW. I would trade them Bourdon for Sharp but of all the pieces CHI is going to have to cut loose I think Sharp is going to the last one they want to give up.
He can play RW and Center. I also wouldn’t mind Lee Stempniak. I just butchered the spelling of his name, but the guy has scored 27 and 28 goals in his career, and apparently is a great guy. May stay in PHX though.
