Any roster changes expected tonight?
I’m happy with the game 2 lineup but wouldn’t mind seeing JVR dressed. Thoughts?
Better than seeing him undressed
But I want Carcillo back on the ice, for no reason except to give him a chance to show the broader audience that he’s become more than they think he is.
I agree, the only way I see JVR back is if Carter moves back to center and Powe becomes the odd man out. Carcillo is needed to stir the pot.
And lay out his own guys apparently. Carcillo served absolutely zero purpose last game.

What if Broad Street Didn't Fight Back? History HAS been made. 5-7-10
5-8-10...the day the Purdue Boilermakers basketball team won the 2011 NCAA Championship!!
I rather have JVR in an Powe out. Carcillo moves to 4th line back with Lappy and Betts. But I trust Lavy.
The 4th line has looked good and has some chemistry. I think what Carcillo adds to that line (the opportunity to—maybe, possibly—score) is negated by what you lose (Powe’s speed and aggressive pursuit). So, status quo wins out.
Carcillo might not be as fast as Powe but Powe’s speed does him no good 1) he can’t finish, 2) his linemates can’t keep up. I think Carcillo is pretty good in terms of aggressive pursuit. I would concede the argument in terms of Powe on the PK, that is understandable. Carcillo needs to develop into a solid penalty killer this offseason. I know he is in the box a lot so doesn’t get much practice at it but if he is to be every game 4th liner with Betts and Lappy he has to play on the pk at times when available.
C&B scoring chances For and Against...
Carcillo 1 2
JVR 2 4
Powe 3 3 in two games, worst one was 1 2.
Scoring chances don’t count when they are on the stick of Darroll Powe. God love him, though, he’s been a PK beast.
He had two of the Flyers’ best shots in the second period, generally got under the skin of the Blackhawks (or at least had them chirping at him, which is his job). He was on the ice for the Eager goal, but fairly sure it wasn’t his fault with the turnover. And he laid out Carter…I’d say he had a pretty solid game.

Our not winning in the SCF is so last month.
It’s a new month and a new location – back home again and time to win! :)

well, for what it’s worth, not that there is a prize for it, but this team is by far the most entertaining team in this year’s playoffs and probably in the NHL playoffs in a long time.
I know i’m following more closely this season, than I have in the past (because it’s my team) but I don’t remember as many shenanigans as this in a while.

I don’t know if I can handle seeing Recchi back in a Flyers uniform. It would just seem so … strange. Like time machine strange.
How long can he keep playing?

He certainly looked good enough this year to give it at least one more go around…

3rd line of a bulked up JVR – Giroux – Reechi seems good to me. I like Recchi over Thoresen. Rex is another vet with tons of playoff experience and a couple of rings always helps. He is still a 40-60 pt guy 20 goal scorer which is crazy and a fan favorite and his number is available. I have more faith in Reechi finishing an amazing Giroux setup than Asham.
Yeah, I can get behind that. He’s also great to be the guy screening the goalie on the PP which the Flyers don’t really have right now. Not entirely sure how the Flyers are making the cap work for next year, but having Rex back would not be a bad thing imo.

Game Puck
I guarantee you that the Hawks are wasting time in their locker room strategizing how to ensure they get tonight’s game puck. LOL – Pronger is a genius!
Philly native exiled to Caps land.
I doubt that.
They didn’t pick up the WCF trophy because it’s not what they are after. You think they care more about a game puck than another win to put us up 3-0? Not with Toews as the C.

Toews is such a dependable player that had to hide him on the bench at the end of the game 2 when the heat was on and the game was hanging by thread. You won’t see that with Richie.
had to hide him (Toews) on the bench
What planet are you on. Toews is the best two way forward on the Hawks. You just don’t want to play a line with Kane and Buf on it in the defensive zone…
You mean to say we could have drafted Pronger instead of Daigle? Had we done that we might have actually won a cup all those years.

We did draft Daigle we trade for him, just like we traded for Pat Fallon the number 2 pick after Lindros in the 1991 draft. Actually Fallon and Prospal were traded for Daigle. Check out his Wiki the Daigle story is crazy, especially the part where Quebec offered to trade Forsberg and some picks for the “next French Canadian Superstar”.
