this doesn’t mean anything to me. What’s the agent going to say after his meeting..“yeah, Holmgren told me there is no way in hell we’re resigning Leighton”, which would do only one thing, drive down the price of his client in negotiations.
Homer probably told him that there was the potential to re-sign Leighton, but that Mike would just have to sit tight and wait until after the draft, after FA period started or whenever we ran out of other options.
Until we actually sign Leighton, I’m not getting too excited about what anybody, Holmgren or Mike’s agent says.
If we do actually sign Leighton and we are satisfied with Boucher/Leighton next season, I may have to cancel my Center Ice for fear that I’ll destroy my television having to watch that tandem go down in flames next season…
