After the jump, some notes, lineups, questions to answer and our in-game discussion.

Star-divide

Just a few pre-game notes:

  • Tonight's officials are Bill McCreary and Dan O'Halloran.
  • The Flyers are 9-0 in Games 4-7 in these playoffs.
  • The Flyers have scored a power play goal in every game of the series.
  • Chris Pronger needs one point to tie a Flyers playoff record for points by a defenseman.
  • Danny Briere needs three points to tie Brian Propp's record for points in a postseason.
  • The Chicago Blackhawks have a Ville Leino voodoo doll in their locker room, but his beard makes him immune to it.

Flyers Line Combinations

Gagne – Richards – Carter
Hartnell – Briere – Leino
JVR / Carcillo – Giroux – Asham
Laperriere – Betts – Powe

Pronger - Carle
Timonen - Coburn
Krajicek - Bartulis

Haven't heard anything on the JVR front. Assuming that means the same lineup as Friday.

Chicago Line Combinations

who the hell knows at this point

Keith - Seabrook
Hjalmarsson - Campbell
Sopel - Hendry

Questions to Answer

  1. Can the Flyers jump out to a hot start, or do they try to weather the early storm a bit instead?
  2. Jeff Carter wound up with a goal the other night on an empty net try. He's had his looks, along with the rest of the Flyers top line, in the last few games. Can the top line get on the board some more?
  3. The Blackhawks took a lot of stupid penalties in Game 4, mostly due to frustration. Will the Flyers goad them into some more of them?
  4. Chris Pronger breaks that record tonight, right?
  5. Michael Leighton had his best game of the Final on Friday. He keeps it up tonight, no?

On NBC tonight. WIP for the local call. As always, join us here for the conversation, and LET'S GO FLYERS!

Love the analysis of Chicago’s lines. Almost reminds me of the line in the little Giants when the kids are standing around and the assistant coach is like “The RB is at tackle, the FB is at QB, and the QB I don’t even know where he is.” It was something like that, who knows wtf Chicago is doing lines wise right now.

They have enough talent though to click with any number of Combos, Quenville just needs to let them stay together for more than a shift or two. f he’s smart Hossa and Pronger don’t see the ice together tonight unless it is on special teams.

I’d like to make an early plea to avoid hubris. The gods will strike us down for it. It’s pretty clear from every piece of literature ever written.

That said…. GO FLYERS!

Hubris also does not apply to any descriptions of Chris Pronger’s awesomeness. The gods fear him as much as Dustin Byufglien does.

The real key is to start teaching languages earlier. Most of the time, they’re not available until high school, and by then most people can’t become truly fluent at a native level. Start teaching in late elementary or early middle school, and it’ll work better.

One of the funniest things was when I was in Paris and I totally messed up my order at the bar. I tried speaking French (Cause I had a handy little book with about 30 words) and said pretty much the exact opposite (Your welcome instead of thank you, or thank you instead of please, or something stupid) of what I wanted to say.

The bartender totally made fun of me in English, and whenever I went back to get a drink he repeated my screw up. Then again, I love sass from servers, so I loved it.
