Why did this story dominate the headlines yesterday? Is it because the national media doesn't really know this Flyers team? I mean, really, I thought the news that Michael Leighton would be starting Game 6 on Wednesday night was a foregone conclusion.

Well, Peter Laviolette announced the news officially on Tuesday afternoon. But he sounded just as surprised that it was a storyline, saying "our goaltender has the best numbers in the playoffs, I didn't think I had to announce it."

So there you have it. Michael Leighton is your starting goaltender on Wednesday night as the Flyers try to stave off elimination yet again in these playoffs. Are you angry with the decision? Is it the right move?

Like I said, I expected this on Sunday night at around the start of the second period.
