Beware of stupid, unbelievably annoying Philly.com video ads on link. Can you get rid of those, already, Philly.com jerks?. Ron Hextall will be inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame this year, the organization announced at a press conference today. He'll join the 1974 and 1975 Cup teams, Fred Shero, Bill Barber, Gene Hart, Ed Snider, Bernie Parent and Bob Clarke as the current Flyers members of the Hall. Hobey Baker, whose name was spelled wrong in the Philly.com article linked above, will also be inducted. Baker, a college hockey legend and the namesake of the annual award for the NCAA's top player, was born in Bala Cynwyd. He played his college hockey at Princeton, where the old rink on campus is aptly named for him.
