That Down Goes Brown article is priceless.

Do you see what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps?

As so many of them are…

Lightning strikes once, Hextall strikes twice!

In Lou We Trust reaction (while read with JFtC) also priceless. I had a fun night reading both. I also feel I know way too much about the CBA for an average fan.

personally
I think the Devils and Kovalchuk should now sue the NHL for age discrimination. They’re essentially saying he CAN’T play until he’s 44.

Go Devils

Two links to Quisp gloating but none to the wailing and gnashing of teeth at ILWT?

by Eric T. on Aug 10, 2010 11:13 AM EDT reply actions

No, I feel if people want to gloat in that way, they know where to go.

They can go to Gloatsville, PA 19320.

Or is that (Steve) Coatesville?

“Awwww if you guys say so!!!”

I don’t even really care whether the Devils got Kovy. I just dislike when people can’t comprehend that the other side of an argument has merit, and enjoy seeing the confusion (and allegations of conspiracy) when the allegedly impossible occurs.

by Eric T. on Aug 10, 2010 1:57 PM EDT up reply actions

Not seeing both sides of the argument seems like willful ignorance.

by Snevik on Aug 10, 2010 1:58 PM EDT up reply actions

Not seeing both sides of the argument is how 99% of humanity lives …

Unfortunately, this.

Lightning strikes once, Hextall strikes twice!

by hintzy64 on Aug 10, 2010 4:11 PM EDT up reply actions

I would saying that 100% of humanity lives by assuming they are the 1%.

I don’t like that he took a chainsaw to his own teammate, however.

Funny nonetheless.

I will be using that all season long when Pronger “sneaks in the back door”.

Meh, considering we have our own cap circumventer in-house, I’m not going to gloat too much over this decision. Teams that spend a lot of money to always remain competitive are always going to try to get a leg up. While Quisp was spot on in his analysis, he also roots for a team that doesn’t tend to be in this camp.

Now, I’m not making excuses for Homer or any of the other GM’s of the teams who are suspected of circumvention, but I wouldn’t want to switch fandoms. Just sayin’.

Oh I would not do it for gloating purposes. Its just some of the comments are sloop far out there that its numerous to read.

Haha, thanks for remembering I guess. I thought Quisp at least deserved not to be snubbed after his hard work over there this offseason.

Luongo

If I was a Canuck’s fan, I would be praying that contract gets voided.

Is this the right room for an argument?

by DLJr on Aug 10, 2010 12:03 PM EDT reply actions

I bet Hawks fans wish the Huet contract was a cap circumvention right about now.

I talked about this in the other thread. I’m pretty sure management doesn’t agree with you (even if the fans are right). They actually want him. I predict Luongo is the next target by the league, with Hossa maybe after camp and cap is set (for bombshell purposes).

Raul Ibanez: since Moyer is on the DL, he is fast becoming our favorite old guy.

Rooting against a certain LW for the Tampa Bay Lightning will be impossible.

by Bud in TN on Aug 10, 2010 2:49 PM EDT up reply actions

I really would want nothing to do with Luongo’s contract. And if this season plays out like last (defense being more important than a #1), I’d imagine management in Vancouver would start to wish it had been voided. I also don’t think Lou is built to be “that guy” either though, and clearly management does. I’m assuming he’ll be far better this year though now that he won’t have the C and won’t have to address the media after every game.

Is this the right room for an argument?

by DLJr on Aug 10, 2010 3:25 PM EDT up reply actions

Haha that Down Goes Brown article is hilarious! As soon as they said “Code Orange” I knew it would be Pronger, it was hilarious. I don’t think Pronger would hurt Richards, but the others that is just a funny scene. I love those articles and they give me a good laugh.
