Ahh Forbesy…I liked you, then you sucked.
I don’t get the headline, anyone?

Wow. Just wow. That’s the scheduling technique that my father was using in the mid 70’s. Being able to do that is useful in case of a power outage or computer virus or such, but choosing to use that technique? Wow.
Honor is no substitute for victory.
Exactly. That’s insane.

Here’s a deeper look at it, including a picture of the big magnet board. They run this same story every. single. year.

6 freaking months? Goodness…. wouldn’t it be easier to compromise and have software generate several potential schedules, and then analyze and pick them apart by hand to pick the best one? That has to take less than 6 months.

I really hold high hopes for Mezo and I’m praying that he gets more minutes than the average 3rd pairing dman. I still believe he needs to play with Timmo and pop Coburn down with O’Donnell.

Flyers Television Play-by-Play Man: Jim Jackson
A) I think he was great as a #2 defenseman in Ottawa, but he was below average as a #1 there and in Tampa. I think he will do better when he doesnt have all the pressure.
B) I think thats what they are going to do. Just a hunch, but I really think hes our #4 this year.
saying "F**k Homer" since 7-19-10
We have to overpay at least one person on the third pairing. Do you have a preference between Cobie and Mezo?
Not really, but I suppose it would make everyone feel better if Coby was #5 since he makes less

Which Petrovicky is that? Robert or Ronald?
Do you see what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps?
It’s Robert. Here’s the full lineup:
G Jaroslav Janus, Karol Križan
D Zdeno Chára, Andrej Meszároš, Ľubomír Višňovský, Ivan Švarný, Richard Lintner, Andrej Sekera F Marián Gáborík, Peter Bondra, Miroslav Šatan, Rastislav Pavlikovský, Zdeno Cíger, Róbert Petrovický, Mário Bližňák, Tomáš Kopecký, Tomáš Tatar
Wow. Zdeno Cíger! That’s a name I haven’t heard in ages.
Whenever Cíger got a shot on goal when he played for New Jersey, Gene Hart would always say: “Close, but no Cíger.”
Do you see what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps?
Gene was an original, a Man among men…and NO ONE was as colorful as Gene calling a game…
There are no more “Rugby Scrums” in front of the net, no goalies “Mushroom Farming” for the puck anymore…
BUT…it is those very Hartisms that allow Gene to live on in our hearts and memories…
Cheers,
Fezzy

I remember they had to play an 11:00 AM game against the Capitals once and he opened the broadcast by singing “Good Morning To You!” before seamlessly going into “Live! From the Spectrum in Philadelphia, it’s the Philadelphia Flyers versus the Washington Capitals!”
I think of Gene fondly whenever I hear a Tampa Bay Lightning broadcast with Bob Taylor. Those two were the best… right up there with Harry Kalas and Richie Ashburn. They had that great chemistry between them.
Do you see what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps?
I always liked “They WHACK at it!” and “He’s going right on in!”
Do you see what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps?
Wow, have you ever asked Janus, Lintner, Sekera, or Bondra if they feel awkward playing with that team and they don’t have any kind of symbol above their names?

“Richard Lintner” sounds like any of the following:
1. A soap-opera star
2. A dentist (Richard Lintner, D.M.D.)
3. An adult contemporary pop singer (opening for Peter Cetera on the latter’s next tour)
I actually always thought the name “Michael Leighton” sounded like a soap-opera actor’s name, too.

I actually like Mezzo the player as a fit on this team. I think having him may drop a bit off defensively but will help some of our guys score a little more, but losing a 2nd round pick and taking on about 4 million bucks worth of cap hit is toooooooo much for me.
Formerly... "You don't have to be sweet, to be good"
Does Meszaros become the Flyers goofiest looking player or what?
He is certainly a big boy though. I wonder how Gaborik felt about fist-bumping with an honourless player?

Remember how Capitals being on Wales Trophy was deemed a hoax? HHOF tells Puck Daddy it wasn’t. Actual engraving error. Post on PD soon

That’s the PuckDaddy article.
That just totally sucks. I made a FanShot for everybody else to see who didn’t check this thread. I just can’t believe that the Hockey Hall of Fame can make this huge of an error. They better damn well fix it and not leave it on like mistakes on the Stanley Cup.
