Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Friday Morning Fly By: Accessorizing

Today's open discussion thread, complete with your daily dose of Philadelphia Flyers news and notes...

  • The biggest news of the day was that the NHL (read: The Rangers and Oilers) want bloggers banned from visitors' locker rooms: [Puck Daddy]
  • In that story above, the Rangers called our Rangers blog "unprofessional" for covering a "Fire Sather" rally.  Their measured and incredibly convincing response: [Blueshirt Banter]
  • But FGSB runs into the same problem we did:  With athletes on Twitter now, we could ask questions if we want.  The problem is, what the hell do we ask? [Flyers Goal Scored By...]
  • The NHL followed that up with a preliminary guideline: [Puck Daddy]
  • In case you missed the Flyers' Mount Puckmore, here it is: [Puck Daddy]
  • And the much better image, carved into stone: [digidigidigi]
  • Joacim Eriksson got the loss as he gave up 2 goals on 24 shots: [euroflyers]
  • Jakub Kovar played all 60 minutes, giving up 3 goals in the loss: [euroflyers]
  • Hysterical reasons for why all 30 NHL teams are doomed and will probably miss the playoffs: [Battle of California]
  • Yahoo! released their Top 100 Fantasy Hockey players list: [Puck Daddy]
  • Why is that interesting?  If you want to join the BSH Fantasy Hockey League: [Fanposts]
  • Edmonton fans blame their city and friends when the Oilers fail to land a free agent.  Why that's unnecessary: [The Copper & Blue]
  • Lastly, a look at the mythical "Top Line Center" and how it relates to the Blue Jackets: [The Cannon]

What are the chances it could still happen? We really need broken defenseman #11 on this team

If anything, I think that tells you simply how much his off-the-ice stuff was affecting him. I feel pretty bad for all the bad things I said about him. Guy was clearly not in a good place mentally. Briere probably wasn’t either.

Off the ice? What happened off the ice? I thought it was BSH’s policy that anything off the ice didn’t happen.

Hopefully that wasn’t just Hartnell for Souray…

It doesn’t matter now. I’m just glad it didn’t happen.

Well, if I wanted to get on another anti-Homer kick, it would matter.

But you’re right, let’s not go there.

Now now; you will have plenty of opportunities for anti-Homer kicks beginning on September 17.

For a refreshingly pro-Homer kick, may I recommend Never Say Die: The Story of the 1988-89 Philadelphia Flyers?

Yeeeeesh.

I take back all of the mean things I said about Harts for him willing to take this one for the team.

Yeah, I think Edmonton needs a new GM.

My blog and Twitter, featuring coverage of the winger that has now terrorized over 70 NHL goalies.

Um, why would they go to the 700 Level when BSH is right here.

Matt P. is legit, and Enrico and Greg have the Deadspin connection?

Plus BSH already did the Puck Daddy eulogy back in April.

I know, just schilling for the home team.

Puckdaddy link contains an awesome Lindros video. Lindros vs. Stevens must be one of if the they greatest 1 on 1 battle between two players in NHL History. FWD was D-Men hits fights and then lights out. It’s a shame his injuries haunted him his whole career especially come playoff time.

Even though it was a Lindros highlight film, every time he came across the blue line with his head down I cringed a little. He was too big, and too dominant coming up for his own good. If only he could have figured something as simple as picking your head up when your coming across the middle of the ice…sigh.

Dude was a beast though.

Is this the right room for an argument?

That Battle of California post...
Boston Bruins: After making history with their spectacular failure in the playoffs last season, this year the Bruins will discover exciting new ways to completely suck. They’ll tie for the division championship at the end of the year but, with the new tie-breaker system disregarding shootout wins, will end up missing the playoffs entirely.

Ahahahaha… amazing. What a great read.

I love the Lightning AND the Flyers... go ahead, preach me!
