From DGB
Be aware of your league’s roster rules and the potential consequences of not following them. For example, failing to have two NHL goaltenders on your roster can result in invalid lineups, forfeited matchups, and a front office job offer from the Flyers.
Fantastic.
Haha, as I went down the list I thought “Sweet, no chirps at the Flyers!” then I read that.
Still laughed, but one can dream of a day when someone, somewhere, doesn’t make fun of the Flyers organization!
It means they’re thinking about us. At least DGB is funny.

There will never be a time that this organization is not ridiculed by all other fans. I have a message to all of them:
HEY, IT WAS THE FRIGGIN’ SEVENTIES GET THE F OVER IT ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just Call Me "M"!
Personally I think it’s nice to know we’re in their thoughts. In a way it’s kinda sweet how much other fans obsess over us.

Another fail for Versus for their opening night video. The music does not get me ready for anything but a nap.
I will say, I did think the score reset from the Flyers vs Blackhawks game 6 was a neat idea though.
Is this the right room for an argument?
I think the ideas are great. Execution is poor, though.
Lots of Philly in that ad though. From the scoreboard to the fans walking up to the WFC to the Devils fans (angry face) crossing the Walt Whitman Bridge.

Yeah, I will agree, I do like the ideas, it just fell short of building the excitement up for me. And I like the fact it includes a lot of teams, but I still think they should do a better job of including all of them, even though it may not be practical. I definitely think they should have fit in the Canucks given that they had the Hart winner on their team last year, but that’s just me.
Is this the right room for an argument?
I’d put good money on the idea that the people in the Versus offices don’t know where Vancouver is.

And I’d put more money that they don’t care. Versus is an American network trying to sell to American fans. There’s not much reason to put any Canadian teams in the montage except to make the hardcore fans feel better about Versus’ hockey knowledge. But those guy aren’t who Versus has to attract so who cares?

Though I may agree with you, I care, so my vote remains fail. Also the Flames were in the video, even though it was extremely brief. And more so to my original point, wouldn’t you want to sell the exciting players to watch, such as the Sedin’s (especially since Henrik won the Hart).

OT: but heres a good picture of superdork made by my cousin

Flyers 10-11 season slogan: "Remember Emery?"
That’s the woman I was talking about before that was causing all the issues with the staff in 124 during the SCF. And then the guy covered by Superfan’s cartoon bubble is the other guy that was crying about not being allowed down to the seats while cameras were filming their pregame set ups.
As a note, they may have a new spot this year during warmups. The first preseason game, they were behind the bench right near the end where the split between benches are…not sure if someone had said something to them or they just picked a new spot….but there is my update.

Why is that?

I don’t have the quotes anymore since it happened so long time ago, but I remember Nitty being surprised about some things that Esche said at the time when they were battling for the starting job. He said it seemed like Esche had some sort of meltdowns, but that he wasn’t going to care about it. They never seemed that close with each other like Nitty and Biron were. I also haven’t heard Nitty having any problems with anyone else.
Ah, fair enough.

Well Esche just lost some respect from me. Then again he didn’t start with much given that he put Kid Rock on his helmet.
Flyers Fans: We've survived Lock-outs, Lindros and Cooperalls. If you want to get rid of us, you'll have to split an atom or two.

That surprises me a little bit, not that I know Esche well or anything, but based on a conversation I had with him at a meet the team event when it was obvious the organization viewed him as the odd guy out, he didn’t seem like the kind of player that would do that sort of thing. He actually was very honest, and humble, and didn’t have anything negative to say about any body (and if I were him in that situation, talking to some random person, I probably would have gone off on a couple things), he was just sad (which was extremely depressing for me to hear in his voice at the time). And he was close with guys like Recchi, who I view as a character type of guy who wouldn’t associate themselves with those types of players. I could be way off base, but that surprises me to hear about Esche.
