Video: The best 12 seconds of the Flyers' season so far
This may have been my favorite 12 second stretch of the entire season so far. Alex Ovechkin tries to dance around like and idiot and Braydon Coburn plays him exactly like you're supposed to -- plant him in the wall.
Ovi actually danced himself out of the puck, and Coburn made sure he knew it. Hell, this would be awesome in its own right, but the fact that the Flyers pick up the puck, storm the other way and put it behind Tomas Vokoun? Perfect. I can't think of another 12 second stretch this season that was better. Ovechkin sucks, etc.

Proud provider of the PECO Power Play.
And Ovechkin finishes the play by smashing his stick against the goalpost. Nice symmetry.

that was disgraceful back checking by ovechkin. hard to believe we viewed him as the best player in the game at one point
Agreed, the coasting back is the most embarrassing part of the play from Ovechkin.

Given 24/7’s buzz and universal popularity in the hockey world, I wonder if HBO would try to have any influence on teams chosen for future Winter Classics, either based on market size or team/coach personality.

What’s funny is that if Ovechkin hadn’t completely given up on the play he probably would’ve been able to catch up to Talbot on the backcheck and the shot he scored on wouldn’t have happened. But of course, Ovi decided that giving effort on defense just wasn’t in the cards.

I completely agree. I remember a time when Ovi used to get pissed when he had a giveaway. There’s just no heart in his game anymore.
It’s dazzling how far his game has slipped.

I like that fact that he did it, and wouldn’t mind seeing some other players do some sort of celebration, just so it doesn’t get out of hand. But most hockey players seem to be less flamboyant than other sports figures (football/basketball).

I think it has to be Lavy. The episode revolved around the coaches too much for it to be anyone else.
