Winter Classic Alumni Game will be broadcast by CSN Philly; TCN to air Phantoms game from ballpark

Good news! While Versus will be airing the Winter Classic Alumni Game at 1 p.m. on December 31, the game will also be picked up locally by Comcast SportsNet, and it'll be called by Jim Jackson. Steve Coates will be at ice level.

We're thinking that this coverage might be simulcast by Versus, considering NHL Network's Kevin Weekes will be in the booth with JJ and Rangers broadcaster Al Trautwig will also be in on the action, but that's of little concern to us. The game will be aired on local television. Live, in beautiful high definition.

A 30-minute edition of Flyers Pregame Live and Postgame Live will also sandwich coverage of the Alumni Game.

In addition to coverage of the Alumni Game, CSN announced that they'll air Flyers Pregame Live an hour before puck drop at 12 p.m. on January 2 for the actual Winter Classic. Postgame Live will follow the game, which will of course be broadcast live on NBC.

And finally, the Phantoms game against the Hershey Bears from Citizens Bank Park on Friday, January 6 at 7 p.m. will be broadcast live on The Comcast Network. Former Phantoms radio voice (and current Flyers PR guru) Brian Smith will have the play-by-play call. Ian Laperriere will provide the color commentary, which is reason enough for you to watch.
