Penguins should thank Vokoun for bailing out at the end of regulation. F him, although Florida looked like they didn’t want to try anything at all in OT.
They have 9 two-point ties this season. It’s not right
by mantis toboggan on Mar 27, 2011 4:53 PM EDT up reply actions
On the plus side, best they can do is match our 42 ROW? Even though we already won the season series (7 points thru 5 games, to their 4).
here's a fun one
If we throw out all Bettman points (gained through OT losses and shootout wins) The Flyers would have 93 points right now, the Pens would have 84. A win in regulation or OT would leave them with one point left to clinch.
Cutting down the mightiest trees in the forest with herrings since 1981 and channeling my inner Hextall since '87
The plus side of that now is the Flyers own the definitive tie-breaker. The bad news is it means the Pens are still in it now

I know hindsight is 20/20..but you would think that during the days of pre lockout and no cap era, Ed “suckballs” Snyder could have bought a Cup
Well heres to doing it the hard way!
by Prometheus74 on Mar 27, 2011 6:59 PM EDT up reply actions
Imagine if there wasn’t a cap now. We’d still have Upshall, Knuble and Umberger. We never had four scoring lines without a cap, yet when we had the assets to make it happen, we can’t because of the cap. Frustrating

I’d say JJ is marginally better than Timmy. Bundy is better than the rest of the Comcast crew combined (if Jonesy isn’t there).
Tim Saunders has a much harder job, I think, since he has to fill in all the details you can’t see where JJ can allude to them or walk you through a replay. I like both, but I have to give Timmy the edge because of how good he is at compensating for not being able to see the game.

No, look at his pant/sock combo beneath the pads. Thomas is wearing all black (Bruins 3rd uniforms), while the rest of the team are wearing white pants with stripes.

If Edwards and Brickley want to mention that the crowd is quiet, I’ll say that I don’t think I’ve ever watched a game taking place at TD Garden where there weren’t a number of empty seats, regular season or playoffs.

The Phillies have sold out over 100 straight games, yet you still see varying numbers of attendance and some empty seats.
Sellouts are merely a stat in tickets sold (and a very loose definition of tickets sold at that), and are never indicative of the number of people who actually show up.

At least then can make it there. Boston hasn’t been since what 1990. Won it last when I think 1972. I think that by those standards the Flyers have been the better team for nearly 40 years.

IMO, we need to stop being fixated by it. I don’t care about whether the word is said or the word is danced around, we’re still obsessing over it. It’s a “watched pot never boils” situation at this point, for me.

I’m not obsessing over it, I’m just annoyed that we can’t manage to go a single game without saying it. We’re now 0-74 when someone says it.

I didn’t mean you personally were obsessing over it, but a lot of people are, the same ones that can’t manage to go a single game without saying it. I know you’re on the “drop the subject” side of the line over here with me

It’s not so much schadenfreude as it is empathising with the kid, and laughing at the pure display of dissapointment that every resident of Boston feels when they wake up in the morning and realize where they live, and what teams they have.
